I’ll have a limited supply of two new products at the Clintonville Farmers Market this weekend: Peach Jam and Chunky Peach Glaze. The glaze is suitable for use as a sauce or marinade on meats, as a topping for waffles or ice cream, or as a sweet salad dressing. The jam is exactly what you’d expect peach jam to be–a plain, old-fashioned spread for biscuits, croissants, or peanut butter sandwiches, made from the recipe in the Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving.
I got a nice haul of peaches off one of our two peach trees, but the fruits were too small and unattractive to sell fresh, so this is how I’ve chosen to offer them. We still have another tree with even more fruit on it that’s not ready yet. I’ll do the same thing with those when they’re ripe, but I’m thinking of experimenting with some other flavors. I’ll probably do Vanilla Peach Hibiscus, since we have some hibiscus bushes that are out of control.
